Restoring MM550 4x4 Jeep (army auctioned) Part 4 (Day 24)

Well....

Finally the weather permits us to put final paint coat and clear coat on the MM550 :

From Monday onwards the Underbody Black coat and Grills, seats etc will start giving shape to the MONSTER.........

Restoring MM550 4x4 Jeep (army auctioned) Part 3 (Day 22)

After a lot more dismantling and de-construction (to lose the "Army Look"), the MM550 is put to final sanding, Washing, drying and .......... First Coat of Albaster Silver.

The MM550 will need use of Super fine Check putty to fill micro-irregularities on the surface to achieve SUPER-FINE surface finish. Final 2 coats of Albaster Silver and Clear Coat to come tomorrow.

After The final Paint process including Clear coat, the pictures will be posted tomorrow.

This is in continuation to my Post Restoring MM540 4x4 Jeep (army auctioned) 

Latest update in form of pictures:

The De-Denting process is over and body parts treated with Bodyfiller and Surfacer.

The Job work planned next is wet sanding of the complete body, Underbody to be treated and coated with Black Anti-Rust Coat.

The material ordered from Mahindra has arrived at depot, includes:

Hinges for front doors
Lock set
Bonnet latches
Wheel Arches front and rear
Door Trims
Door Inner and outer Handles
Inner and outer weaterstrips
Glass run for front doors

Lets see what we make of it........

Colour Plan:

Underbody : Black
Upper body : Silky Silver
Hinges and Soft Hood Frame : Black

Restoring MM540 4x4 Jeep (army auctioned)

I have a very interesting assignment at my workshop. One of my clients wants an army auctioned MM540 4x4 restored and rebuild to look like Mahindra Thar.

When I started with this JOB, I took it as a regular job. But then as soon as I had dismantled the MM540 for bodyshop de-denting job, I came up with this idea of cataloging this JOB Work.

The following Pics are from day 3 after de-construction/dismantling was done and Denting and welding job was underway.

I will keep posting pics on daily basis on the progress of this project.
